LA CUCHUFLERA – QUALITY AND INNOVATION

Since 1996, at La Cuchuflera, we have been dedicating all our efforts to the creation and production of the finest artisanal cuchuflies. The genesis of La Cuchuflera dates back twenty-five years and is clearly a family enterprise, aiming to become "the sweetest thing in Viña del Mar," thus fulfilling a long-held dream: to produce quality artisanal cuchuflies. “The idea was born because we're all confectioners, and cuchuflí is a typical product of ours, and we're just now giving it the quality and the new face it needs. The ones we tried were bad, so one day my wife and Cecilia decided, let's make a couple of boxes, and it worked. I started with 10, 20 boxes, then 40, then 60, 100. Then we won a Fosis competition in 2002, and with that, we completed the first step of the venture: legalizing our company. The first money raised went towards raw materials, starting operations, and obtaining a health certificate,” says Christian Feliú, founder and former team leader of “Cuchufli Bumbo” (the former name for the current “La Cuchuflera”).

The recognition for this company's quality and management has been tremendous. As important as its exquisite taste is its entrepreneurship, which has been recognized on several occasions over more than two decades of hard work. "It's been very beautiful, and we've stood out. We've won several competitions. In 2008, Cecilia won second place in the Women's Microentrepreneur Award, organized by Banco Santander. 21,000 women applied, and we won second place. The awards ceremony was held at La Moneda Palace with the bank's entire top management, which was a great award for her as a woman. We also won second place at an SME fair organized by D&S (formerly Walmart) in all regions, among other recognitions in the media."

The greatest strength of this company is the quality of the product itself. There are different flavors and presentations (including exclusive cuchuflí cakes). "Our product is a cuchuflí that captivates and leaves a mark. The important thing is to be the best in product and sales; personalized sales are added value; here the owners themselves serve them. Each customer has their own unique taste; we make more than twenty varieties of cuchuflí. Each type is a unique blend that has to be perfect. There are varieties with whiskey cream, with lucuma, with Baileys, with mint, with orange, with amaretto, and with non-alcoholic chocolate, in addition to sugar-free and lactose-free varieties. Our characteristic is that we have a service soul; to be an entrepreneur, you have to have a service soul." The next step, and why not export in the near future? We hope, sooner rather than later, that our products can also be enjoyed in different places around the world.
